We met at the old Methodist church in Canute at 11:30. Amber Hall was the host. Several brought things to help Amber since she will be leading us, and there is so much to do starting the new year. We had a lovely lunch of chicken salad pushers and chips. Amber called the meeting to order at 12:15. We began with the flag salute and citing the county creed. Amber read the devotional.
Roll call: do you have New Year's resolutions? Lorna Horton read minutes from the last meeting, and Renae Dodson motioned to accept. All approved. Lynn Ferrari gave the treasurer's report. A suggestion was made as a fundraiser to get our funds up: each person brings $5 to the next meeting. This will help to buy flowers for sick members. All accepted it. A tooth fairy project is coming Jan. 17-18 in Cordell, with several plans to support it. Five members worked serving Christmas dinner to people in need in Elk City. There were over 250 people served. We received new books for the new year and chose the months to host. We will have a birthday lunch for December and January birthdays on Sunday, January 14. we plan to have lunch and visit Lois Johnson in the Corn Heritage Village.
We were taking cupcakes to celebrate her 93rd birthday. We may do some sewing projects, crocheting, etc. Some have volunteered to help with the Suicide Program.
There will be a cutting project for the Canute 4-H Club on January 10 at 3 p.m.
Plans to sew on March 6. Amber adjourned the meeting at 2:00. Verena Misener won the host gift. The next meeting will be on February 1 at Glenda Ross in Foss.
