Letters To The Editor

Dear Editor; Our national news providers have bombarded us with opinions of every presidential variety and color one could imagine. The voters of Oklahoma have now been assaulted with another kind. This new variety brings into play our supposedly apolitical non-partisan Justices of the Supreme Court of the State of Oklahoma.

This stunt involves a statewide mailout campaign that declares in near microscopic size print: Not authorized by any candidate or -candidate committee. Authorized and Paid for by Protect Our Freedoms, LLC. 6608N. Western Avenue #1153, Oklahoma City, OK73116.

This stunt shows a picture of the justices in the ad where it states that they have defended us against our State School Superintendent’s decisions. It also exhibited a photo of Superintendent Walters in an unfavorable light on the back side of it. In the second of these mailings I received they are defending us against the opioid crisis. What heroes we have.

All of this sounds pretty good politically, but I wonder how much Our State Superintendent of Schools appreciates being included in the extension of the justice’s bid for retention to offices to which they were never elected.

I understand some of why Superintendent Walters was chosen as a bad guy for the ad. He has insisted that our schools stay with the science of sexuality and just let DNA determine the sex of people just like it does for our animals.

When your ballot at the polls asks for a vote on retention of one or more of the Justices of the Supreme Court pause and ask yourself just who in the world is this Protect Our Freedoms, LLC. and whom’s interest do they protect.
