Blue Devils Finish

Cordell’s football season ended abruptly Friday night as the Blue Devils fell to Mangum 14 to 54 in a must win game to advance into the ffs. “I don’t know what to say,” said Cordell Head Football Coach Dustin Beasley. “I am so proud of these kids and y, especially our seniors.” He continued, “Those kids went out and represented Cordell for ten weeks, no matter the odds. The Mangum way we wanted it to, but I’d take these guys and play them again - I’d go with these kids and play every team again

Blue Devils Defeat Hollis As They Move Into Play-Off Contention

Friday night’s 41 to 22 win over the Hollis Tigers put the Blue Devils one step closer to qualifying for the play-offs. A road win over Mangum on November 2 would seal the deal for the Blue Devils and put them in position to continue playing football.

On a great night for football, the Blue Devils played textbook football for most of the game, with only a couple of turnovers, good defense and got stops when it was needed.

Toward the end of the first quarter the Hollis center snapped the ball over the quarterback’s head and we recovered.

Cordell Blue Devils Fall To Frederick Bombers

For two and a half quarters the Cordell Blue Devils held their own against Frederick, but a controversial score and bevy of fumbles broke open a tight 13-6 game ending in a 47-6 road loss to the Bombers on the road Friday night.

"We played really well and fought out there on defense, but I think when they scored that long run it let the wind out of our sails," coach Dustin Beasley said. "I was proud of the way we fought, and we didn't quit. I will take that fight every time. We have got to get better. We have a big game at home next week.”

CHS Blue Devils Outscore Sayre 27 To 13

Cordell Blue Devil football fans celebrated with their team on Friday, September 28, as they took a 27 to 13 win over the Sayre Eagles. The Blue Devils came out charging and scored early in the first quarter on a quarterback sneak by Drayton Maddox from four yards out. Parker Johnson’s point after try was good and Cordell took an early 7 to 0 lead. “We held them and got the ball back,” remembered Cordell Head Coach Dustin Beasley, “and marched it down the field for another score.” This time it was Dane Corbin punching in for the touchdown, and another good Johnson kick gave the Blue Devils a 14 to 0 lead. Sayre fought back and scored a touchdown of their own before the first quarter ended and their successful PAT trimmed the Blue Devil lead to 14 to 7.
