Frank (Mason) Proffitt, 82, of Cordell, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully with family by his side on August 20th, 2018. He was born on July 17th, 1936 to Chester Frank and Ruby Beatrice (Gould) Proffitt in Cleo Springs, Oklahoma. Mason grew up and attended school in Fairview, Oklahoma graduating in 1956. He was united in marriage to Karen Blair on September 17, 1959 in El Reno, Oklahoma. Mason was a true cowboy, raised on ranches and participated in the sport of rodeo. He enjoyed competing in roughstock, timed events, announcing and was even a rodeo clown. He worked as a heavy equipment operator, insurance crop adjuster, auctioneer, licensed real estate broker but truly loved gathering and working cattle for others through his Custom Cattle Business. Frank (Mason) Proffitt Mason was a member of the 4th & College Church of Christ and the American Legion. He also served in the Army National Guard. Mason loved his farm (he called his little piece of Heaven on Earth) and his cattle operation but most of all he loved his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Mason is survived by his wife Karen Proffitt of the home; son Monte Proffitt and wife Lisa Ann of Cordell; two daughters: Gayla Linn and husband Jimmy of Dill City and Lisa Williams and husband Paul of Cordell; foster son Cal Cleveland; grandchildren, Amanda Lynn Conway of Edmond, Oklahoma, Mason Kent and fiance Memory Smith of Weatherford, Ryan Linn and wife Sara of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Eric Linn and wife Chelsea of Yukon, Oklahoma, Denton Williams of Cordell, Lane Williams of Weatherford; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Frank & Ruby Proffitt; sisters Crystal Kliewer and Betty Thornton; and brother, Hilton Proffitt. A grave side service was held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Red Rock Cemetery in Calumet, Oklahoma under the direction of Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell
