GIRLS

The Jana Rogers-coached girls basketball team went 1-3 over the past week to drop its season record to 3-9. Two of the losses came against ranked teams.

Tues, Jan 19,

Merritt 61, Cordell 21

The Lady Blue Devils kicked off a busy week with a 40-point loss against the Class 2A No. 12-ranked Merritt Lady Oilers. Cordell’s top scorer Ellie WIllard put nine of the team’s points on the board.

Thurs, Jan 21

Leedey 61, Cordell 36

The Lady Blue Devils were defeated by the Class A No. 2-ranked Leedey Lady Bison early in the Tri-County Tournament. The top scorer in this game was Ellie Willard, with 16 points.

Fri, Jan 22

Hobart 51, Cordell 38

The Lady Blue Devils fell to the Hobart Lady Bearcats on the second day of the Tri-County Tournament. The top two shooters for this game were senior Andrea Palmer and Freshman Ellie Willard, who both scored 8 points for their team and made 100 percent of their free throws.

Sat, Jan 23

Cordell 45, Elk City 43

In their final round of the Tri-County tournament, the Lady Blue Devils picked up their first win of the week. The top scorer in this game was Ellie Willard with 25 points.

BOYS

The Cordell boys basketball team, coached by Brandon Gallagher, went 1-2 over the past week, with games in the Tri-County Tournament. Their game against Merritt last week was canceled. The boys team now

The boys team now stands at 5-9 on the season with about four games on the schedule before district tournament play starts.

Thurs, Jan 21

Cordell 59, Leedey 27 The Cordell Blue Devil Basketball team demolished the Leedey Bisons in their first game of the week. Senior Brady Reimer put 12 points on the board for the Devils in this game, making him lead scorer.

Fri, Jan 22,

Hobart: 49, Cordell 31 In their second game of the week the Cordell boys fell to the Hobart Bearcats. Kray Rogers was the top shooter in this round of the Tri-County Tournament, putting 11 points on the board for the Devils.

Sat, Jan 23,

Elk City 46, Cordell 45

On the last day of the Tri-County tournament, the Blue Devil boys took a one-point loss. The top scorer for this game was Dawson Willard with 18 points.

UPCOMING GAMES

The teams traveled to Mangum Tuesday night (results not available as of press time).

They played at Navajo on Tuesday, Feb. 2. They close out the season with games at home vs. Snyder on Feb. 5 and Frederick on Feb. 16.
