The Cordell Memorial Hospital has not seen or treated any patients with COVID-19 related illnesses since the outbreak began, a spokesperson for the hospital said this week.

Carla Tollett, Marketing and Communications Consultant for Cordell Memorial Hospital, said the facility has remained prepared throughout the pandemic

“The continued health and safety of our patients, caregivers and communities remains our top priority,” she explained.

Tollett related that Interim CEO Bridget Cosby says the hospital “is back to up to 80 percent of what we were before the COVID-19 outbreak began”

Tollett emphasized the hospital is adhering to all CDC safety guidelines and have extensive infection control measures in place to limit the risk of exposure and keep everyone safe.

Those include:

• Visitor restrictions to one Care Representative for each patient.

• Entrance screening for all patients, visitors and staff at our facilities.

• Adherence to all CDC guidelines and protocols regarding appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for providers and staff.

• Requiring all patients, visitors and staff to wear masks or other face coverings when they enter our facilities.

• Enhanced cleaning/ disinfection processes in facilities.

“We continue to encourage Oklahomans to wear masks, avoid large gatherings, observe social distancing and wash their hands to help slow the spread of this disease,” Tollett said.
