Cordell Blue Devils Close Out Football Season At Minco

“We told them it was going to be a fight and that Minco was ranked third in the state for a reason,” said Cordell Head Football Coach Dustin Beasley following Cordell’s 12 to 62 loss to Minco on Friday, November 18, 2016.

“There were several plays, almost back-to-back, that allowed Minco to score and we got down 28 points in the first quarter,” he continued.

“Minco is a big, athletic team and we struggled to make first downs, and we also had trouble stopping them,” Beasley said. “Containing them also proved to be a problem.”

CBA Football Team Ends Season In State Quarterfinals

The Corn Bible Academy football team's season came to an end Friday night in Pond Creek as the Crusaders fell to the top ranked team in the state by a score of 16-40.

CBA started off hot and caught Pond Creek-Hunter off guard, quickly obtaining a 16-0 lead. Pond Creek, however, managed to stifle Corn's momentum to cut the deficit to only two points at halftime.

The Crusaders continued to struggle stopping their opponent in the second half, allowing Pond Creek to score four unanswered touchdowns.

Blue Devils Romp Past Bulldogs

On a perfect night for football, the Cordell Blue Devils outscored the Hooker Bulldogs 28 to 13 on Friday, November 11, 2016, in the first round of the State Playoffs.

“We are all proud of the win but already have that in the rear view mirror as we get ready to play Minco on Friday,” said Cordell Head Football coach Dustin Beasley.

Beasley said Hooker was probably one of the most “dangerous” teams the Blue Devils had faced, saying they are well-coached, played hard and never gave up.

“It was a good win,” Beasley said.

Blue Devils Soar Past Sayre Eagles 45 To 0

Blue Devils Snarl, But Tigers Escape

"You can’t win big ballgames and give up a special team touchdown and have four turnovers,” said Cordell Head Coach Dustin Beasley following Friday night’s 21 to 27 loss to the Hollis Tigers. “I felt like we played hard, but there were times that, instead of doing what was coached to do, they tried to stretch a play and it didn’t work out,” Beasley continued.
