New Cordell city officials have begun exploring options to repair the city’s aging water delivery system without incurring a $10 million debt to replace the entire system. Mayor Jerry Beech, along with city administrator J.C. Moser and council members James Newman, Vicky Dunlap, and Steve McLaughlin met last week with Greg Mainess from Jag Underground, LLC to discuss various repair options.

“We want to make sure we’re doing our due diligence and we’re not doing things that we don’t need to be doing,” Beech said during the meeting. “Have we turned over every rock we we can before undertaking this major project?”

The ad hoc committee met in the mayor’s office Wednesday, June 5, 2019, and discussed the issues facing Cordell’s water system and several possible ways to address those issues.
