Megan Brown wrapped up her impressive athletic career at Cordell High School with a fourth-place finish at the state golf tournament last week. Brown shot 76 on the first day and 80 on the second in wet, rainy conditions at the Aqua Creek Golf Course in Guthrie during her fourth, and final, high school state golf tournament. After the tournament she was named as one of the two western Oklahoma players on the All-State golf team.

Brown visited The Beacon office earlier this week to reflect upon her two-sport career at Cordell and to talk about her future. She has already enrolled, on a full scholarship, to play golf at the college level at Midwestern State University, where she plans to major in accounting with hopes of becoming a Certifed Public Accountant.
