Robert “Bob” Taylor 83, of Cordell

Robert “Bob” Taylor, 83, of Cordell, passed away peacefully April 22, 2019, at his home. Bob was born Dec. 16, 1935, to Joe and Marjorit (Crowley) Taylor in Cloud Chief.

Bob grew up and attended school in Cordell, graduating from Cordell High School in 1953. Right after high school Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for 20 years. After retiring from the military, Bob went to work for Halliburton Oil Services and worked there until retirement, then he worked for the Cordell Police Department as a dispatcher.

Bob married the love of his life, Margaret Richards, in Abilene, Texas, Jan. 16, 1987. They made their home in Cordell. He loved to ride motorcycles, but most of all he loved his family. Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife Margaret Taylor, of the home; sons Matt Taylor of Shreveport, La., Mark Taylor, of Waskom, Texas, Christopher Cantu and wife Jennifer of Round Rock, Texas; Michael Cantu and wife Crystal of Banning, Calif., Andrew Cantu and wife Angie of Elk City; bonus son Steve Mclaughlin and wife Stacia of Cordell; daughters Connie Taylor of Cordell; Lisa Richards and Kathy of Edmond; grandchildren Kyle Cantu, Sarah Donnelly, Tracy Brawley, Ryan Cantu, Katie Williams, Kristen Cantu, Caleb Beadles, Christopher Cantu, and Kellie Hurtgam; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Joe & Marjorit Taylor; and a grand-daughter, Megan Hurtgam.

Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2019, with the famil welcoming guests from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell. The funeral was held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home Chapel in Cordell. Interment at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell.
