Celsor Throws No-Hitter; Kuehne Gets In-Field Grand Slam Home Run

The Cordell Blue Devils bounced back from their opening day loss at Sentinel in fine form Friday night, handing the Merritt Oilers a blistering defeat in a game called after three innings and a 12-run Blue Devils lead.

Defensively, it was the Koby Celsor show. Over the course of three innings, Celsor struck out nine of the 11 batters he faced and walked the other two. No Merritt batter managed to reach first base.

Offensively, the work was spread out among all of the Blue Devils, with solid batting at every turn. The game’s highlight came when Raydon Kuehne stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded. Kuehne smacked a ball deep into center field, which was officially recorded as a double with two errors, but had the same effect as a grand slam, with all four runners scoring.
