The New Cordell Utility Authority spent nearly two million dollars on municipal utility services during the 2018 calendar year, excluding the costs of water and electricity purchased for resale.

As noted in the previous installment of this ongoing series (Feb. 27, 2019), payroll expenses made up the city’s single largest expenditure category, which also holds true in the utility authority’s six accounting departments - water, electrical, sewer, garbage, customer service, and miscellaneous. Of the $1,809,159 in total expenditures, more than one-third ($656,983.38) was attributed to personnel costs.
