Cooks Win Oklahoma Achievement Award; Compete at National Convention

Editor’s Note: I would like to thank Hannah Davis of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau for her assistance with this report.

Cordell-area farmers Nocona and Jordan Cook recently returned from New Orleans, La., where they competed for the American Farm Bureau Association’s national achievement award for young farmers and ranchers. The Cooks earned their place in the competition after winning the Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee Achievement Award.

The Cooks didn’t finish in the national top 10, but Nocona said he was still very glad to have had the opportunity to attend the national conference.

“It was really a great honor to be recognized for the achievement award,” he said. “Both my father and grandfather were deeply involved in the Farm Bureau and both won awards. Even though we didn’t finish in the top 10, it was still a tremendous honor to be here. We appreciate the Oklahoma Farm Bureau and the Young Farmers and Ranchers committee for allowing us this opportunity.
