Thomas Anthony Flowers, age 29, was arrested in Cordell Dec. 14, 2018, and charged with a single felony count of child abuse. If convicted, Flowers could spend the rest of his life behind bars.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Cordell Police Officer Trevor Stewart was dispatched to a residence on West Street in Cordell just before 9:00 p.m. Dec. 14, 2018, to investigate a reported disturbance. Upon arrival Stewart made contact with Flowers and noted the smell of alcohol on or about his person.

Stewart proceeded to interview an adult female inside the residence about the incident, while Flowers remained outside on the front porch. The woman told Stewart that Flowers had been drinking and yelling at a second woman, who had left prior to Stewart’s arrival on the scene. She further reported Flowers had continued to scream at others in the residence and had been punching the wall. Four children, three of whom were Flowers’ and one of whom was the child of the witness, were also present during the alleged incident.
