Development Agency Honors Local Officials

The Southwest Oklahoma Development Agency recently honored two local officials for their work with as trustees for the agency. During a Dec. 11, 2018, meeting of the SWODA Board of Trustees, Cordell Mayor Bob Plummer and Washita County Commissioner Leo Goeringer were presented with certificates commemorating their service at SWODA.

Goeringer was recognized for 10 years of service as a trustee, beginning as the representative for the county soil conservation agency and then stepping in as the county commissioners’ representative after his election.

“It’s been nice being part of giving grants to rural Oklahoma groups like fire departments or to take care of senior citizens,” he said. “I’ve been able to meet a lot of good people in SWODA over the years, it’s been good.”
