Washita County Commissioners and a group of family and friends gathered Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at the site of the new Kenneth “Bill” Jones Bridge along County Road 1230 to celebrate the dedication of the bridge to the former Washita County Commissioner.

“I’m glad we were able to do this for him,” said current Washita County Commissioner Bart Gossen. “I’ve known him for a long time and he’s a good guy.”

The bridge was built to connect two stretches of County Road 1230, which previously swung further north before connecting. The Jones family, who has farmed the land for six generations, donated the stretch of land on which the bridge was built to Washita County.
