The Cordell Lady Blue Devils split their two games last week, beating the Minco Lady Bulldogs on the road Tuesday and falling to the Hollis Lady Tigers at home Friday.

In the Tuesday, Nov. 27, contest at Minco, the Lady Devils jumped out early, scoring 17 points in the first quarter, outpacing the Lady Bulldogs by seven. As the first half drew to a close, the girls from Minco fought their way back into the game, outscoring the Cordell girls 13-7 and cutting the Lady Devils’ lead to just 24-23 as the teams went into the locker room at the half.

The Lady Devils came out strong on defense in the third quarter, holding the Minco girls to just three points while scoring 10 of their own. Senior Casey Lee led the charge, scoring eight of Cordell’s 10 points in the quarter. The teams fought a fairly even fourth quarter, with Minco holding a slight 11-10 scoring advantage. When the final bell sounded, the Lady Devils came out on top, 44-37.

Lee finished with a game high 20 points, followed closely by fellow senior Megan Brown with 18.
