A Word From The Superintendent

We are already approaching the end of the first nine weeks of the school year, and time is flying by. In my article this week, I would like to update the community on what is going on within your school system. Last week parent-teacher conferences were held.

These conferences are an important part of the educational process. Parent-teacher conferences are an excellent time for parents and teachers to connect and discuss how students are performing. It is also a great time to focus on areas of strengths and weaknesses of students. Throughout the district about 65% of parents attended the conferences. We would love to have a 100% participation rate because we value each child’s education, and parents are an important part of the process. Sometimes the younger grades have closer to 100% participation, but often the level of participation decreases as students get older. There is no doubt that when parents and school work together the child benefits.
