Discussions Continue On Changing Cordell’s Form Of Government

Although he said he wasn’t “married” to the idea of changing Cordell’s form of government, mayor Bob Plummer has repeatedly floated the idea and now is pushing to have a possible change on the November ballot.

Currently the City of Cordell operates with an Aldermanic form of government which provides for a mayor elected by voters registered in Cordell, as well as eight council members, two from each of the four wards.

The change to a council manager form of government, as championed by Plummer, would reduce the council number to five, one from each of the four wards plus one at-large member.
