Cordell native Clifford H. (Bud) Sanders 94, died June 2nd, in his home in Denver, Colorado, surrounded by his family. Following his graduation from Cordell High School, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War, in India, China and Burma, ‘flying the hump”. After his honorable discharge, he graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BA and MA. He then taught and coached at Adams High School in the 1950’s. Moving to Denver, he taught in the Denver Public School System and served as an assistant principal, retiring in the early 1980’s. He frequently attended Cordell High School class reunions. He is survived by his daughter Terry Crowther and her husband Sam, of Laguna Niguel, California; sister-in-law Margaret Duggins; brother-in-law Bill Cox; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Mildred Cox Sanders; his parents Edward and Carmen Sanders; his brother Clinton and sister-in-law Ruth Sanders; brother-in-law Baker Duggins; and sister-in-law Mary Jo Cox. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday June 23rd, at Griggs, Oklahoma Marella Cemetery in Cimarron County. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a favorite charity.
