Holt Farm Receives Centennial Designation

The Gibson Holt farm in the vicinity of Cloud Chief was recently designated as an Oklahoma Centennial Farm.

Members of the Holt family have grown wheat and raised cattle since grandfather Gibson Holt settled the land in 1917.

In 1899, Noah Gibson “Gib” Holt moved with his young wife, Josephine, to Cloud Chief, which was then Indian Territory.

He and “Josie” traveled in a covered wagon which contained all of their possessions. They had some cattle and horses with them as well.
