William Wesley Bowles went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 24, 2017. He passed away in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was born June 14, 1923, in Cotton County, Oklahoma. Wesley was raised in Cotton County and attended Union Valley school. He served his country during World War Two in the United States Army. After his service he returned to Cotton County where he married Dorothy Rodolph, together they made their home in Temple and farmed in Cotton County. Wesley enjoyed working, fixing and tinkering with objects and just keeping busy. He loved and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing or cooking outside. As his health began to fail him, Wesley became a resident at the Lawton/Fort Sill Veterans Center. He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 2002. He is survived by his grandchildren; Chris Bowles and wife, Karli of Cordell, Jennifer Kennedy and husband, Carl Smith of Los Angeles, California; four great grandchildren; Maxwell, Estelle, Sean, and Chancelynn and a host of dear family and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Temple, Oklahoma, under the direction of Kiehn-Varner Funeral Home, Cordell.
