During the Summer months Bubba was always seen around town setting up and selling his family's produce and watermelons. Bubba was a cowboy at heart and he liked to take the back roads always looking to find a good local rodeo. He was also an avid OU sports fan, loved the Dallas Cowboys, but he cherished the Cordell Blue Devils and the Lady Blue Devils. He would follow them many, many miles to every football field, ballpark, and gymnasium in Oklahoma. He just loved to support the local kids and knew them all by name. Bubba never met a stranger and he would always threaten to put you in your place by saying "don't make me whoop you". Everyone always knew that it was a friendly gesture and he was deeply loved by the entire community. He was a friendly person with a big heart that enjoyed being around people and friends.
