Hamlett Receives State Award

At an awards ceremony held at the Scottish Rite Temple in Guthrie, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, Cordell High School student Justin Hamlett received the prestigious 2017 State Superintendent Award for Arts Excellence.

According to State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister, the awards are given to high school juniors and seniors who have achieved artistic and academic excellence and served their communities.

Hamlett was awarded for his outstanding accomplishments with the Cordell High School Band where he serves as Drum Major and plays the trumpet and saxophone as well as other instruments.
