Sandra Kay Williams Flax was born September 10, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and passed away September 4, 2015, in Andover, Kansas, at the age of 71. She attended school in and graduated from Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1963. Sandra moved to Sentinel, Oklahoma, in July of 1974, where she raised her family. She operated Sandy’s Beauty Shop in Sentinel for several years. Sandra was a cosmetologist and beautician. In the middle of the 1980’s Sandra and Don Flax moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. While living in Arizona Sandra started a new career. She began working for the Department of Corrections as a Correction Officer working her way up to the rank of Lieutenant. She was employed there for 18 years retiring in 2007. She received several accommodations with her favorite being “expert shot”. Troy always joked with his mom about not making her mad while she had her gun on. Sandra enjoyed visiting with friends and family, she loved to travel. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and life partner Don Flax in 2012.Sandra’s survivors include sons, Troy Walrod of Eldorado, Kansas, and Robert Glover Jr. and wife Monica of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter, Suzann R. Comer and husband Mark of Eldorado, Kansas; sisters, Nancy Johnson of Dublin, Texas,  and Karen Blystra of Surprise, Arizona; brothers, Ron Williams and wife Barb of Prescott, Arizona, and Dave Williams of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of dear family and friends. Services for Sandra Williams Flax will be held Saturday September 19, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Sentinel, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Musick-Varner Funeral Home of Sentinel.
