Rodney Wade Roark, born September 22, 1966, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on December 25, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. He was employed as an electrical design engineer for the past 22 years. Rodney attended Living Hope Church where he served two terms on the church elder board and security and worship teams. Rod had a personality larger  than life. He was generous to a fault, witty, energetic, loving, charismatic, humble, sincere and honorable. He was very proud of his Christian upbringing and even more proud of his two children and the genuine lives they lead. His beautiful heart was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Rod attended elementary school, junior high and high  school in Cordell, Oklahoma. After graduation in 1984, he attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma,  where he received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology. Shortly after receiving his degree, he married his high school sweetheart, Kyndal  Hare, on May 27, 1989. His love for the Colorado Rocky Mountains brought him to Colorado Springs in 1992. Although he never took a beautiful day in Colorado for granted, he always considered Oklahoma his home. Rod and Kyndal have two amazing children, Keaton Noel born June 7, 1993, and Ross Solomon born February 11, 1998. Also surviving Rod are his mother, Ellaweise “Jackie” Roark; his sister, Rhonelda Neece and her children Emily, Melissa, Brady and Carlin; and his sister Vanya McLaughlin and husband Eddy McLaughlin and their children Vanessa and Nolan. Rod is preceded in death by his father, Reverend Doyle Van Roark. Rod’s memorial service will be held at the New Beginnings Church, 1221 E. 14th Street, Cordell, on January 17, 2014, at 10:30 a.m
