Fire Causes Major Damage At Caprock

Thanksgiving break was put on hold for area firefighters who responded to a major fire at Caprock Plungers the night of Wednesday, November 26. There was nobody at the facility at the time, and no one was hurt. According to Cordell Fire Chief Seth Slaughterback, Kenny Gregory called 9-1-1 at 8:18 p.m. to report the blaze. By 8:27, the Cordell fire department was on the scene. Caprock owner Dale Selman said Cordell, Cloud Chief, Rocky and Bessie fire departments helped put out the blaze.Per Slaughterback, seven  trucks, 16 firefighters and an ambulance responded.
