Sandy Serratt daughter of C.C. and Peggy (Locke) Serratt, was born July 2, 1953, in Amherst, Texas. Sandy was raised in Azusa, California. She passed away at the age of 61 at home in Cordell, Oklahoma. Sandy lived in Texas, Iowa, and then moved to Cordell, Oklahoma, in 1984, where she raised her family. On October 15, 1988, Sandy married Mike James in Alma, Oklahoma, where they made their home until moving back to Cordell in the late 1990’s, to be closer to family and friends. Sandy enjoyed cooking, fishing, and making crafts. She loved listening to music and tending to her roses. Sandy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father, one sister and one brother. Survivors include four daughters: Winona Parker of Cordell; Kimberly Parent of Sandy Serratt Cordell; Stacey Scheurer and husband Theron of Hinton, Oklahoma. Four sons: Russel Boecker and wife Amy of Cordell; Tom Boecker of Cordell; Joe Boecker of Cordell; Kevin James of Wichita Falls, Texas. Four sisters: Carolyn Tucker and husband Mike of Ridgecrest, California; Pat Serratt of Cordell, Oklahoma; Mickie Collins and husband Chris of Littlefield, Texas; Shirley Crowder and husband Mike of San Angelo, Texas. Two brothers: Chip Spencer of Ringling, Oklahoma; Chris Serratt and wife Karen of San Angelo, Texas, 21 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, a beloved friend Mike James and a host of dear friends and family. Services were held for Sandy Serratt at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2014, at the New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Cordell, Oklahoma, with Rev Mike Southerland officiating. Burial followed at Strickland Cemetery in Cordell, Oklahoma, under the direction of Musick–Varner Funeral Home of Cordell, Oklahoma.
