Buddy Louis Hendricks was born to Virgil Chipps and Virginia Hendricks on May 20, 1949, in Amarillo, Texas, and departed this life April 2, 2014, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 64 years, 10 months, and 12 days. Buddy grew up in Amarillo and Clinton, where he attended school. On August 21, 1969, he married the love of his life, Peggy Hill in Vernon, Texas. Later he became the father to two daughters, Vickie and Linda. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a Rural Route Driver. Buddy enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. He was a loyal and caring friend who will be dearly missed by so many. He is preceded in death by his dad who raised him, Lewis Hendricks; his father, Virgil Chipps; a daughter, Linda Drew; and a sister, Lillian Giblet. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Peggy Hendricks of the home; a daughter, Vickie Hendricks of Cordell, Oklahoma; his mother, Virginia Hendricks of Cordell, Oklahoma; four brothers, Kenneth Goree of Bessie, Oklahoma, Sammy Hendricks and Janet of Clinton, Oklahoma, Ronnie Hendricks of Bessie, Oklahoma, John Chipps and wife Charlene of Clarksberg, West Virginia; three sisters, Angie Hendricks of Cordell, Oklahoma, Rebecca Hendricks of Cordell, Oklahoma, Gingie Urbena of Cordell, Oklahoma; an uncle, Sam Evans; three grandchildren, Kendra Carter, Lindsey Hendricks, and John Drew; two great grandchildren, Jakobi and Kolebyn; and many other relatives and dear friends. Graveside services were held at Clinton Cemetery in Clinton, Oklahoma, on Monday, April 7, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. with Jerry Wilkins officiating, under the direction of People’s Cooperative Funeral Home in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma.
