Funeral services for Michael W. Howard, 57, former Cordell resident were held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2014, in the Peace Lutheran Church in Bessie, Oklahoma, officiated by Pastor Rob Spicer and burial followed in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Michael Wayne Howard was born December 13, 1956, to Don and Edna (Reinschmiedt) in Sentinel, Oklahoma, and passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014, in his Barnett, Missouri home. Mike was raised in Cordell, Oklahoma, and graduated from Cordell High School in 1975. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University working on a degree in Biology. He returned to Oklahoma and worked with his father in the Chevrolet Dealership in Cordell. He also worked in Law enforcement and served on the Cordell Police Department as well as working for an auto body shop. In 2000, he moved to Missouri, and was employed with the Morgan County Sheriff Department as Deputy Sheriff and Jailer. He retired in 2013. He was married to Barbara Jean Hendricks on March 3, 2013, in Morgan County, Missouri, and they had made their home in Barnett, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna. He is survived by his father, Don Howard, of Cordell, Oklahoma and his wife, Barbara of the home, a son Justin Howard and wife, Natalie, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a brother, Keith Howard, Palm Springs, California, two grandchildren, Aiden and Noah Howard, both of Tulsa. He is also survived by three step daughters, Patricia Roe, Carla Arnold and Tracy Luttell, all of Missouri.
