Megan Hurtgam, 24, resident of Cordell, Oklahoma, was born on June 21, 1989, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Craig and Lisa (Cantu) Hurtgam, and passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013, in Cordell, Oklahoma. Megan was born in Altus and raised in Cordell. She graduated from Cordell High School in 2007. Megan was President of her Junior Class, and drum major of the Cordell Blue Devil Band, for two years. She was also the library
assistant from the 9th-12th grades. Megan was selected for the President Eisenhower People to People Ambassador Program to Europe, in 2006. Megan had attended OU, and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She was employed at the White Dog Hill Restaurant, as a hostess. Megan also was employed at the Weatherford Living Center, as a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed playing music, and knew a lot of music history. Megan was an avid reader. She loved taking care of and playing with animals. Megan was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Mervin Hurtgam, and her great aunt, Maureen Palmer. Survivors include her father: Craig Hurtgam of Stroh, Indiana; her mother: Lisa Richards of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters: Jamie Dunn of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Kellie Hurtgam of Elk City, Oklahoma; her maternal grandparents: Robert and Margaret 
Taylor of Cordell, Oklahoma; her paternal grandmother: Sue Hurtgam of Ransomville, New York; four nieces and nephews: Tyler, Mistaya, Jacquelyn and Makennor; numerous aunts and uncles.  Funeral Services were held
for Megan Hurtgam at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at the Generations Church, Cordell, Oklahoma, with Pastor Kyle Evans, officiating. Services were under  the direction of Musick-Varner Funeral Home, Cordell, Oklahoma
