Sheri Mechelle Hohnke, 62, Foss, Oklahoma was born on February 29, 1964 in Elk City, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Larry Joe and Sherry Ann (McNatt) Hall. Mechelle went to walk the golden streets of Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Integris Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family.
Mechelle married her best-friend and love of her life, Brad Vincent Hohnke on September 17, 1982, at Foss Baptist Church, Foss, Oklahoma. Their marriage was a true partnership filled with love and devotion. Together, they raised their family, building a life rich with memories, laughter, and love, to this union one son was born, Dylan.
Mechelle treasured the time spent with her family, especially her beloved granddaughter, creating long lasting memories. She liked making all types of crafts, including t-shirt designs. Mechelle loved to travel and enjoyed water and snow skiing. She truly loved visiting with family and friends and would help anyone in need.
She received her associates degree in Radiology and worked for Mercy Hospital for eighteen years.
Mechelle was active in many civic organizations and contributed to her community by serving on the Canute PTA, Meals on Wheels. She was a founding member of the Canute Jaycees and the Canute CPR.
Mechelle was a faithful member of Saint Matthew Catholic Church, Elk City, Oklahoma, where she enjoyed the fellowship of her church family and was a member of St. Matthew Women’s Guild. Her faith, love, generosity, and the countless memories she made with family and friends will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 28, 2026, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Elk City, Oklahoma. Father Danny Grover will officiate and Father Lawrence Damian will assist. Interment will be at Holy Family Cemetery, Canute, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Cherishing her memory is her husband, Brad Hohnke of Foss, Oklahoma; one son, Dylan Hohnke and wife, Zaylee of Burns Flat, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Lakelynn Hohnke of Burns Flat, Oklahoma; her parents, Larry Joe and Sherry Ann Hall of Foss, Oklahoma; one brother, Kevin Hall and wife, Amber of Canute, Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Rose Marie Hohnke; of Foss, Oklahoma; one brother-in-law, Neil Hohnke and wife, Christine of Foss, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Linda Hohnke and husband, Sam of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mechelle is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, JR and Laurel McNatt; paternal grandparents, Lee and Blanche Hall; step grandmother, Edna Hall and her father-in-law, Frank Hohnke.
