Washita Co. Commissioners minutes

Now on the 5th day of September 2023, the County Commissioners in and for Washita County met in regular session with Chairman Goeringer calling the meeting to order.

Goeringer asked Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, for roll call. Roll call was answered by Gossen, present; Goeringer, present; Chandler, present.

The Board reviewed the minutes of the previous regular meeting. Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to approve the minutes. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to sign the OSF Form 3 for reimbursement of the Election Board salary for the month of August from the State Election Board. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

The Board discussed holding a special meeting to discuss the upcoming sales tax election with tax seeking entities and the citizens of Washita County. The meeting will be held on September 21, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Washita County Activity Center. No action was taken.

Motion made by Chandler seconded by Gossen to approve the appointment of Cheryl LeFevre as the Jail Administrator and as a receiving officer for the Washita County Justice Center. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.

Reuben Stringfellow, Washington National, was present to discuss the supplemental insurance option offered by Washington National. The information will be reviewed further. No action was taken.

Kenneth Trent, Emergency Manager, provided updates to training opportunities and federal grants. Currently, federal grants are on hold due to the availability of funds. No action was taken.

Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, provided an update on the timeline of the enclosing of the east side of the activity center project for the relocation of the OSU Extension office. No action was taken.
