The Central Oklahoma Chapter of AHSGR has planned a much-awaited gathering of Germans from Russia descendants from all over Oklahoma.
It will be held at the Herold Mennonite Church of Bessie, Oklahoma on September 17, 2022, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Plans include a covered dish lunch, musical entertainment, family history displays, poster contest for upper and lower grades, door prizes, and even a recording booth to record treasured family stories.
We look forward to hearing from our speaker, Christina Siemens, about her family’s immigration from Russia to Canada, Mexico, and the US with all the trials and dangers they faced.
There will also be a showing of Waiting for Waldemar - one German family’s saga of danger, imprisonment, escape from Ukraine, separation, and finding each other once again.
