The Cordell Masonic Lodge #127 recently recognized some of Cordell’s brightest students and most dedicated educators during its Student and Teacher of Today Awards, celebrating those who make a positive impact in the classroom and beyond.

WPLS launches 2026 Summer reading program

The Western Plains Library System is inviting area children and families to dig into a summer full of books, learning, and entertainment with its 2026 Summer Reading Program, “Unearth A Story,” running from May 18 through June 26.

Families across the community are invited to gather for an evening of fun, food, and celebration at the upcoming Hello Summer Kickoff Event on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Lee Park. The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and is open to all ages.

City’s Spring cleanup dates announced

To assist citizens with keeping their properties well maintained and clean, the City of Cordell will be offering a Spring cleanup from May 26 – 29, weather permitting. To be included in the cleanup citizens must complete a sign-up form and submit it at City Hall.
