The Cordell Junior High Wrestling Team started their season of strong with the Kingfisher Tournament on December 1st through the 3rd. The girls kicked off the tournament on Thursday, Dec. 1st, where Baylor Moore took home the Championship at 117. The boys finished off the tournament on Friday and Saturday. The following wrestlers competed: Aiden Willard - 1st Place JH Heavy Weight, Andrew Willard - 1st Place Middle School Heavy Weight, Briggs Reeves - 3rd Place Middle School 92, Axton Zarecki - 6th Place JH 195, Logan Taylor - JH 119, and Dalton Sparks - Middle School 126.
“I was very proud of Baylor and these young men with the way they performed this past weekend. There was some very good competition and the kids responded and wrestled well. I look forward to the rest of the season with this group as we are just getting started at this point,” stated Cordell Wrestling Coach Dillon Ball.
The next competition will be JH District Duals taking place on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Watonga. The high school team will compete at the Weatherford Tournament beginning Friday, December 16th though 17th.
