The Cordell Blue Devils were well represented at the Washita Valley Conference Basketball Finals, held Friday and Saturday, February 5–6, at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU), as several athletes earned conference awards for their hard work on the court.
On the boys’ side, Cordell head coach Williams announced that two Blue Devil athletes were selected for Washita Valley All-Conference Honorable Mention. Raygan Wehunt and Michael Hileman received the recognition following a vote by the coaches, highlighting their consistent performances and contributions throughout the season.
Cordell’s Lady Blue Devils also made their name known at the conference finals, with multiple players receiving recognition. Calliy Walker was named to the Washita Valley All-Conference Team, an award reserved for the conference’s top players. Emma Holman and Tralynn White each earned All-Conference Honorable Mention awards for their efforts and impact during the season.
In addition, Birdie Brown was recognized with the Special Recognition Injured Player Award, acknowledging her commitment to the team despite injury. The award was accepted on Brown’s behalf by Kyndal Norris.
