Blue Devils defeated by rival Burns Flat-Dill City Eagles

Last Friday, the Cordell Blue Devils fell to the Burns Flat-Dill City Eagles. The final score was Burns Flat 42, Cordell 6.

According to Head Coach Zane Trammell, The boys didn’t have their heads in the game.

“Burns Flat played harder up front than us, they were big, and they ran the ball hard, but you know, it’s easy to run the ball hard when no one is sticking you, it’s easier to run the ball when you are five yards down the field before anyone touches you,” said Trammell.

Though the team’s effort wasn’t at its best, a few players still stuck out of the crowd to Trammell. “We had a few bright spots in the game; Blaine Larsen broke a big one early on in the game, Louis Lloyd had a defensive drive where he got three tackles on the line of scrimmage, and I’m sure there were more that I will see when watching film,” Trammell said.

After a bye week, the Cordell Blue Devils will play at home against the Hobart Bearcats; kickoff will be at 7:00 pm. The Cordell Cheer team encourages everyone to wear camouflage garb to this game to show your spirit while supporting our Blue Devil Boys. This year’s spring sports seniors will be showcased at this game in the senior night ceremony.
