Susan Michele Jones, 65, of Cordell, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 12, 2024, in Cordell, Oklahoma. She was born on March 4, 1959, to Troy Elmo and Delores K (Kerley) Maddox in Wichita Falls, Texas. Michele moved to Cordell, Oklahoma, in the 6th grade, graduating from Cordell High School in 1977. She married the love of her life, Steve Jones, on December 12, 1980, in Cordell, Oklahoma. Michele loved her Sunday School class and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She also taught the youth girls Sunday School class for many years and enjoyed that very much. Michele was also a member of the Women’s Warrior Prayer Group. She loved her family dearly. Michele loved her granddaughters something fierce. She loved spending all of her time with them, letting them sleepover, taking them shopping or doing whatever they could talk her in to. Michele loved traveling, going to Branson was her favorite. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband Steve Jones, Cordell OK; Children: Kiesha Black & husband Nick, Dill City, OK, and Seth Jones, Cordell, OK; Grandchildren: Emrie Jones, Texhoma, OK, and Avereigh & Autumn Black, Dill City, OK. Mother: Delores Maddox, Cordell, OK; Sister: Marlane Maddox, Houston, TX; Niece: Alex Williams, Houston, TX; and a multitude of close friends and family. Preceded in death by Father: Troy Elmo Maddox, Daughter: Keegan Lane Jones, Father & Mother-in-law: Bill & Frieda Jones.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell. Funeral was held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 15, 2024 at First Baptist Church, Cordell. Interment: Lawnview Cemetery, Cordell.
Under the direction of Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home, Cordell
