March 4th, 1959 Jan. 30, 2025
Rhonda Beth Gossen, age 65, of Guthrie, OK passed away January 30th, 2025. Rhonda was born March 4th, 1959, in Cordell, OK to Lavern and Glenna Jones. Her childhood and school years were spent in Cordell riding horses, spending time with family and friends and attending the Church of Christ where she ultimately accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Rhonda graduated from Cordell High School in 1977.
Following high school, Rhonda landed in Blanchard, OK with then husband, Gary Lundy, where they welcomed their only child, Jarod, into the world. She would eventually end up back in Weatherford, OK working at Kelley Jewelers and pursuing an Art degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. It was during this time, at the age of 29, that she suffered a life altering stroke resulting in the complete loss of her speech and right-side functionality. Many thought she may never recover, but she showed her strength and resiliency with a near full recovery while learning to tackle life as a southpaw. Rhonda would ultimately utilize this setback as fuel for her life’s mission of providing brighter days for the residents of assisted living facilities across much of central and western Oklahoma.
It was at one of those stops in Weatherford where she met the love of her life, Kervin Gossen. Kervin and Rhonda were married in June of 2002 and would spend the next 22 plus years pouring life into the local church and elderly care facilities while also finding time to travel the world to places like Hawaii, Mexico and Alaska. Rhonda’s passion would eventually shift to her grandchildren and result in her retirement in the fall of 2023.
Rhonda, affectionately referred to as Nina, spent countless hours chasing grandkids around to their various activities while continuously spoiling them beyond anyone’s wildest dreams.
Rhonda’s time in retirement was cut short due to continued health battles, ultimately passing due to challenges associated with congestive heart failure, but she leaves a legacy of personal will power, overcoming adversity and deep love for family and friends.
Rhonda’s Celebration of Life is scheduled for 2PM, Friday, February 21st, 2025, at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Corn, Oklahoma.
Rhonda is survived by her husband Kervin Gossen; son Jarod Lundy, wife Noel, children Dash and Millie Kate; Stepdaughter Kelly Waters, husband Brandon, children Barrett, Ryker and Britton; Stepson Cameron Gossen, wife Sh’Ree, children Emarie and daughter Clarke, Kassidy and husband Kolby and Ella-Ann.
