Marvin Roy Ivy passed away on January 27, 2025, in Cordell, OK. He was born on February 5, 1956, to Roy Edward & Viola Evelyn (Glaseman) Ivy, in Wichita Falls, TX.
He attended school at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch and graduated in 1974. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy.
After his honorable discharge he returned home and made a living driving a truck hauling petroleum.
He earned a 5-year safety award for safety driving for Simmons Petroleum. Marvin then bought his own truck and traveled all over the United States. Once his mother got sick, he moved home to be closer to her and started working for Dolese and was hauling rock. He worked for Dolese until his retirement. Although Marvin never had any children, he adored his nieces and nephews and loved spending time with them. He thought the world of them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his sisters: Reta Britton & husband, Roger, Cordell, OK, Delores Boatwright, Joplin, MO. Nieces: Dena Shields & Chris, Cordell, OK, Lori Burch, Joplin, MO, Carla Woodard, Cordell, OK, Kristy Ivy, Cordell, OK. Nephews: Murlene Stewart, Minnesota, Jake Ivy & wife, Brycelynne, Cordell, OK, and a host of other family & friends.
Preceded in death by his Father: Roy Ivy, Mother: Viola Rich, and step-father: Roy Lee Rich, brother: Robert Ivy.
