Sept. 27, 1946– April 27, 2025
Jacqueline Karen Morgan Van Alstine, aged 78, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, with her daughters by her side. Jacqueline “Jackie” was born on September 27, 1946, to Rose Mae Gamble Perry Morgan and Haskell Harry Morgan in Compton, CA. Her family later moved to Cordell, OK, where she graduated from Cordell High School in 1964. She married Bill Van Alstine in Duncan, OK, at the Westside Christian Church on May 28, 1967. She was warmly welcomed into the Van Alstine family by Bill’s parents, Ernie and Joy Van Alstine, and his siblings, Phil, Linda, and Sherry. Bill and Jackie’s daughters, Michelle Joy and Heather Sharon, were born on May 9, 1968, and May 27, 1972, respectively. During Bill’s service as a helicopter pilot in the United States Marine Corps, the family moved from base to base as needed.
After Bill completed his military career, the family made Duncan, OK, their permanent home. They raised their two children there and were active members of the First Christian Church. Jackie graduated from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma with a degree in accounting in 1976 and went to work for Halliburton in the accounting department. Eventually, she left her career to help her husband build their business, Van & Company Geothermal Inc. She initially envisioned providing office support; however, Bill needed someone to operate the drilling rig. Together, they worked through heat, cold, rain, mud, sweat, and tears. Eventually, Jackie transitioned to managing the office, running it with great success for over 36 years, until she sold the business and retired following Bill’s passing. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bill Van Alstine; her mother, Rose Morgan; her father, Haskell Morgan; and her nephew, Craig Creekmore.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Field, and her husband, John Field, and their two children, Madeline and Dawson Field of De Soto, KS; her daughter, Heather Nealis, and her husband, Mark Nealis, and their five children, Caleb, Peyton, Morgan, Elizabeth, and Emma Nealis of Owasso, OK; her sister, Glenda Fries; and her nephew, Mark Creekmore of Buena Park, CA. In honor of Jackie’s wishes, a memorial service will not be held. Shelle and Heather will conduct a private committal ceremony at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK, where she will be interred with her loving husband, Bill. The family will host a gathering later in the year in commemoration. Memorial contributions may be made to Season’s Hospice, 6532 E 71st St, Ste 101, Tulsa, OK 74133. (Please write “Jackie Van Alstine” in the memo line.)
