Co. Commissioners Chandler & Gossen announce bids for re-election

Bart Gossen will seek re-election as Washita County Commissioner for District I, a position he has held since 2014.

Gossen was born in Cordell, raised in Washita County, and has lived in Washita County his whole life.

He has served on multiple boards, including SIF/SIG (Self-Insured Fund/ Self-insured Group), CED 7 (Circuit Engineering District 7), and seven years for SWODA.

Gossen served on the Corn MB Church Board of Trustees (Finance and Facilities Board) for over 15 years, and the Corn Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, where he still serves as an on-call fireman.

Training certifications Gossen holds include County Budgeting Processes I & II, ACCO Safety, Supervisor’s Wildland Fire Training with Heavy Equipment, and MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices).

Under Gossen’s guidance, District I maintains approximately 540 miles of roads and 128 bridges.

Gossen stated, “It has been an honor to serve as your District I Commissioner, and I would appreciate your continued support and your vote. I will continue to welcome your phone calls and work to keep our county facilities open and available to our citizens. I will support opportunities for growth within Washita County.”
