Washita County Commissioners’ Minutes

Now on the 23rd day of February 2026, the County Commissioners in and for Washita County met in a regular session with Chairman Chandler calling the meeting to order.

Chairman Chandler asked Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, for roll call. Roll call was answered by Gossen, present; Gray, present; Chandler, present.

Prayer was led by Commissioner Gray.

The Board reviewed the minutes of the February 17 2026 regular meeting. Motion made by Gray seconded by Gossen to approve the minutes as presented. Gossen, yes; Gray, yes; Chandler, yes.

The Board reviewed the minutes of the February 19, 2026 special meeting. Motion made by Gossen seconded by Gray to approve the minutes as presented. Gossen, yes; Gray, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Gossen seconded by Gray to approve the blanket purchase orders as filed in the County Clerk’s Office. Gossen, yes; Gray, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Gray seconded by Gossen to approve payroll for all county employees for the month of February. Gossen, yes; Gray, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Gray seconded by Gossen to table a road maintenance and repair agreement between Little Elk Wind Project LLC and Washita County for use of primary roads by Little Elk during a maintenance project to allow further review by the District Attorney. Motion made by Gray seconded by Gossen to sign a rental service agreement between Consumer Textile Corporation and Washita County for shop supplies for District 2. Gossen, yes; Gray, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Chandler seconded by Gray to table a quote from Electronic Contracting Company for the jail control locks and camera system at the Washita County Justice Center for further review by the Washita County Public Facilities Authority. Gossen, yes; Gray, yes; Chandler, yes.

Motion made by Gossen seconded by Gray to enter into executive session at 9:14 a.m. for the purpose of interviewing candidates and discussing the hiring of an individual for the position of Washita County Emergency Manager pursuant to 25 O.S. §307(B)(1). Gossen, yes; Gray, yes; Chandler, yes.

An announcement of the executive session minutes compliance was made stating the minutes had been taken, sealed, and will be stored with the executive session minutes of the county. No action was taken.

The opening for the Emergency Management position will be posted publicly February 23, 2026 – March 6, 2026 at noon. No action was taken.
