The Washita Theater in Cordell has announced a change to its Saturday movie schedule, effective immediately.
Previously, Saturday movie showings featured doors opening at 6 p.m. with the movie beginning at 7 p.m. Going forward, on most Saturdays, doors will now open earlier at 4 p.m., with the movie starting at 6 p.m.
The adjustment is intended to better serve community members who prefer not to drive after dark. By moving show times earlier, the theater hopes more patrons will be able to enjoy a movie and return home before nightfall.
There is one exception to the new schedule. On Saturdays that coincide with Bingo Night at the Washita Theater, movie times will remain unchanged, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the movie starting at 7 p.m.
The Washita Theater encourages moviegoers to check upcoming schedules for confirmation of show times, especially on Bingo Night Saturdays.
