Kemper Woodis named CKenergy Youth Tour Finalist

Kemper Woodis, a student at Cordell High School, has been announced as one of eight finalists for the 2026 CKenergy Youth Tour, a prestigious leadership and civic education program sponsored by CKenergy Electric Cooperative.

As part of the selection process, each finalist has already been awarded a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of their academic achievement, leadership qualities, and commitment to their community. From this group of eight finalists, four students will soon be selected to participate in an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C.

The CKenergy Youth Tour provides students with the opportunity to explore the nation’s capital while learning firsthand about government, history, and the role of electric cooperatives. Participants typically visit national monuments and memorials, meet with elected officials, and engage in leadership-focused activities alongside students from across the state.

Being named a finalist is a significant accomplishment, as students must go through an application and interview process that highlights their communication skills, civic interest, and future goals. Woodis’ selection reflects positively on both Cordell High School and the local community.

Finalists will be notified soon regarding the four students who will advance to the Washington, D.C., trip. Regardless of the final selection, CKenergy officials emphasized that all finalists have demonstrated outstanding promise and leadership potential.
