Now on the 18th day of December 2025, the County Commissioners in and for Washita County met in regular session with Chairman Gossen calling the meeting to order.

Motion made by Chandler seconded by Gray to approve a Transfer of Appropriations transferring $3200.00 from Visual Inspection travel to Visual Inspection Maintenance & Operations for the Assessor’s Office within the General fund. Gossen, yes; Gray, yes; Chandler, yes.
The Board discussed the general government account balances in personal services and maintenance & operations. Also discussed was the need to transfer funds, budgeted for safety awards, from personal services to maintenance & operations due to the unexpected expenses of legal fees. No action was taken.
The Board discussed the issuance of safety award incentives for eligible county employees for 2025. In the board meeting held on November 17, 2025, safety awards were approved for eligible employees. On November 18, 2025, Washita County learned that a lawsuit had been filed against the Board of County Commissioners and Excise Board by the County Assessor; therefore, the discussion of revoking the issuance of safety awards was discussed and tabled on November 24, 2025. On this day, the Board discussed the funds budgeted in General fund for the safety awards for the Courthouse and Sheriff/Jail employees needing to be used for unexpected expenses. Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to not issue safety awards to eligible county employees in 2025 due to the budgeted funds for these awards needing to be used for other expenses due to the unexpected expenses of legal fees associated with the lawsuit. Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, reported that Chairman Gossen and she had attended a meeting on Friday where discussions were held regarding SQ841, now SQ842, involving ad valorem taxes. Chairman Gossen reminded everyone to consider attending the CODA Conference where this topic will be discussed by all county associations. No action was taken.
Sheriff Rozell reported that the Comanche County agreement for housing inmates was discussed on Friday, re-negotiating the day rate and an agreement would be sent to the county soon. No action was taken.
