The Cordell School District is pleased to share an important update regarding the continued growth and improvement of its schools. At a special meeting on December 4, 2025, the Cordell School Board of Education unanimously approved placing a proposal before the voters of the district on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
This proposal reflects the community’s commitment to providing safe, modern, and high-quality learning environments for all students. If approved by voters, the measure would provide funding for the following important district priorities:
• A new secured entrance at the Elementary School To increase safety and improve visitor access procedures, the proposal includes construction of a secure, controlled entrance that enhances campus security for the youngest learners.
• Elementary Playground Upgrades
The plan includes improvements to playground areas and the addition of new equipment and features that promote physical activity, creativity, and accessibility for all students.
• Restroom Renovations at the High School To modernize facilities and improve student comfort and accessibility, the proposal includes updates to the high school restrooms.
• Districtwide Technology Needs
To support 21st-century teaching and learning, the proposal addresses technology upgrades across all schools, including updated classroom devices, improved network infrastructure, and digital instructional tools.
The total estimated cost of these projects is $1.37 million. Importantly, the Board has worked closely with district financial advisors to structure this as a two-year bond with no projected tax increase for the community.
The Board and district leadership understand the importance of responsible stewardship of public funds. They have worked diligently to identify needs that support student success while balancing fiscal responsibility. The hope is that this proposal meets the expectations and priorities of families and residents throughout the district.
All community members are encouraged to become informed about the proposal and to participate in the February 10, 2026, election. Additional information about the ballot measure, including project details and anticipated timelines, will be shared in the coming weeks through district communications and the district website.
The Cordell School District appreciates the continued support of the community and its students. Together, the district and community will continue moving forward.
