Cordell is buzzing with Blue Devil pride as Basketball Homecoming week officially tips off! Students, families, and fans can look forward to a full slate of spirited festivities leading up to the Cordell Blue Devils Homecoming basketball showdown on Friday, December 12th.
The action begins with junior high basketball at 4:00 p.m., followed by the high school game at 6:30 p.m., as Cordell prepares to battle the Hollis Tigers on the home court. Immediately following the boys’ game, the spotlight will shift from the hardwood to center court for the 2025 Homecoming crowning ceremony around 9:30 p.m.
Before the evening festivities begin, don’t forget the Homecoming Pep Assembly on Friday at 2:45 p.m. in the Blue Devil Gymnasium. Students are encouraged to pack the stands wearing their HOCO shirts, blue-andwhite gear, and all things Blue Devil spirit.
Both the junior high and high school are getting in on the excitement with a full week of themed dress-up days: 1.Monday – Beach vs. Ski Day: Are you headed for sunshine or snow?
2.Tuesday – School Swap Day: Trade your colors and represent another school for a day.
3.Wednesday – Flannel vs. Frost: Stay warm in flannel or embrace the cozy vibes.
4.Thursday – Favorite Christmas Character Day: Bring your favorite holiday character to life in the halls.
5.Friday – Blue & White Spirit Day: Flood the school in Blue Devil colors!
This year’s homecoming candidates are: Jacie Mc-Cown, escorted by Jacob Vela; Audrey Gatlin, escorted by Gideon Thompson; and Tralynn White, escorted by Zayden Jones.
Adding extra charm to the evening, this year’s miniature escorts are flower girl Brady Woodis and crown bearer Avery Ramirez Jr.
From themed outfits to pep-rally energy and a night of basketball capped with a crowning moment, Cordell’s 2025 Basketball Homecoming is set to be a week full of memories and Blue Devil spirit. Come out and cheer loudly. Go Blue!
