Cordell Softball ‘Meet the Players’ puts the fun in fundraising

The 2025 Cordell Softball ‘Meet the Players’ Night was a huge success, with a great crowd of fans filling the stands. We kicked off the evening by introducing both our junior high and high school teams. We’re going to be a young group this year, but we have a lot of girls who want to play, learn, and just have fun together.

Following the player introductions, we held our team auction to raise money for the program. The “purchased” players took a few swings off the pitching machine, though the machine didn’t exactly cooperate, but we made it work, and the girls still had a blast.

We also hosted a bake sale, sold some of our old jerseys, bats, and helmets, and offered other surplus items. Our Home Run Derby had a great turnout, and congratulations go to Michael Moore, who took home the win.

I want to thank everyone who came out to support our program. The funds raised from this event help us purchase apparel for the girls, cover food on road trips, and buy training tools for our batting barn and field, things that help our athletes improve each day.

A big thank you goes to the Cordell Summer League for running the concession stand, to our parents for donating to the bake sale, and to my wife, Misty, for handling the bookwork.

We’re excited to kick off our season Monday as we travel to Calumet. Thank you again for your support, and as always, Go Big Blue!
